"Hey, Professor? Are you in here?" Tani lightly rapped at the door without much of any point. She still let herself in, poking around like she had some kind of business at the professors lab. Oh, wait! She did. Today was the day she finally received her first Pokemon and started on some kind of grand journey around Kaspan. Where to? She had no idea yet, but she figured it would be best to just start from step one, then get going. And that step was getting her first party member.
Now, just where was that Professor Lief?
"Yooooo!"

"I'm sorry, Professor Lief isn't here right now."
A voice came from the back, soon followed by a body. It was a young man, equipped with a belt full of Pokeballs and a pair of extremely geeky glasses. He didn't seem old enough to be in the lab as an assistant, or anything else.
"But, I can help you. Are you here for your first pokemon?"

She briefly inspected the kid that came around from the back. He didn't seem like he had much of any business in the lab, but he was holding onto a collection of Pokeballs. She gave the lab a quick once over to see if the whole thing were some kind of a joke or scam without discovering much of anything. The assistants did not look concerned with the young man's presence, so this must really be how things are going to happen.
Weird...
"Yeah, I'm here for my first Pokemon." Tani answered, eyeing the kid. "What have you got waiting for me?"
